Ilona Korhonen singer
Violinist Pekka Kuusisto and vocalist Ilona Korhonen present a fascinating contemporary perspective on Finnish folk music in this free post-concert performance on the Clore Ballroom.
Ilona Korhonen is an expert in runo song, an ancient Finnish tradition that fuses song, poetry and storytelling. Through figures such as 19th-century poet and singer Larin Paraske, runo song played a central role in the development of Finnish national identity.
