Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5 in E minor

The Philharmonia Orchestra returns to Windsor Festival for an evening of romantic classics, featuring the winner of this year’s Windsor International Strings Competition, the prodigiously talented 16-year old, Nathan Meltzer. The concert showcases the talents of rising-star British conductor Michael Francis, as he conducts Sibelius’s soulful fantastical Violin Concerto before leading us into the turbulence of Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony – a work full of love, despair and sweeping waltzes – and a blazing finale to bring the evening to a triumphant close.
