Voices of Revolution: Battleship Potemkin Introduction with Vladimir Ashkenazy & Martin Sixsmith
The groundbreaking film, Battleship Potemkin, directed by Sergei Eisenstein, changed the language of cinema and made a deep impression around the globe when it was released in 1925. The Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy, opened the Voices of Revolution: Russia 1917 series on 12 Oct 2017 with a screening of the film accompanied by live orchestra. The soundtrack is a new arrangement of Shostakovich symphony extracts.
