Working alongside animateurs (workshop leaders), Philharmonia players create and perform with young people of all ages in many different learning settings. Bespoke projects are designed to suit local context and need, and are distinctive, inclusive and participatory.
The Firebird Project is a cross-arts music and dance initiative by the Philharmonia in partnership with Richmond Music Trust, Hounslow Music Service and The Royal Ballet School.
The Philharmonia is also affiliated with the Kingston music hub, with plans in place for Philharmonia musicians to visit the borough in 2014/15 to provide instrumental coaching and composition support work.
Working with Orchestras Live, Rochford Extended Services and Rochford District Council have also worked together on various music projects at both primary and secondary levels in Rochford.
The benefits of music participation are well documented, and it can provide inspirational experiences whilst contributing significantly to social, emotional, practical and academic development.
