The Philharmonia Orchestra is a world-class symphony orchestra for the 21st century. Our vision is that the Philharmonia – both live and digitally – will have a transformative impact on the widest possible audience. Led by our Principal Conductor & Artistic Advisor, Esa-Pekka Salonen, the Philharmonia reaches new audiences and participants through our innovative artistic programme, audience development, digital technology and our learning and participation programme. In every one of our performances, digital experiences, education projects and videos, we aim to create thrilling experiences in music.
Our annual programme consists of over 180 performances, with concerts at our home at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London and throughout the UK, including our residencies in Basingstoke, Bedford, Canterbury and Leicester. We are proud of our role as a Global Cultural Ambassador and tour regularly to Asia, North and South America and across Europe. Over 40% of our activity is focused on engaging children and young people with orchestral music.
Such a comprehensive programme requires leadership and a great financial commitment. We are very grateful to Arts Council England for their generous support. However, in order for us to deliver our ambitious programme and achieve our vision, we must raise an additional £2 million per year. The Philharmonia’s programme would be diminished beyond recognition without the support of individuals like you.
The Conductors’ Circle, our patrons scheme, is at the beating heart of the Philharmonia. It is a wonderful way to get closer to members of the Philharmonia Orchestra and the conductors and soloists with whom we are proud to work. Supporting the Philharmonia Orchestra is much more than a commitment to donate. It is an investment in a world-class orchestra, internationally renowned artists and digital innovation. Your support ensures as many people as possible can experience, and be inspired by, the joy of orchestral music.
Become a member of the Conductors’ Circle and share your love of great music and share our vision for the future of music-making.
