Fiona studied the violin at the Purcell School of Music where her teachers were Sybil Copeland and Jack Glickman. She was awarded a scholarship to attend the Royal Academy of Music in 1999, studying with Lydia Mordkovich, and won the Clarence Myerscough Trust Prize and the Lesley Alexander Award for performance.

With a diverse freelance career, Fiona has worked with the Royal Opera House Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, BBC Philharmonic, Northern Sinfonia, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Welsh National Opera, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and played in session orchestras for Decca & EMI. She has also participated in chamber music concerts in Japan, South America, the Purcell Room, Wigmore Hall, Buckingham Palace and contributed solo violin music to the BBC Television series Silent Witness. Fiona joined the Philharmonia Orchestra in February 2007.
