Beethoven Symphony No. 5 Listen

Join Esa-Pekka Salonen and pianist Yefim Bronfman in the iconic Théâtre des Champs-Elysées for an evening celebrating Beethoven’s creative brilliance.

Yefim Bronfman, whose playing has been described as “a finely spun whirl of notes that verged on the unbelievable” (LA Times) performs the stormy Third Piano Concerto – a piece providing blazing virtuosity and exquisite delicate moments in equal measure.

In the second half, the Fifth Symphony begins with arguably the best-known moment in classical music. But those four fateful notes underpin an extraordinary piece that offers drama, tragedy and an irresistible sense of adventure throughout.
