Beethoven Symphony No. 7 Listen

Join our Principal Conductor Designate Santtu-Matias Rouvali and pianist Alice Sara Ott for a thrilling summer evening at Cheltenham Music Festival.

Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, made famous by The King’s Speech, is one of the composer’s best-loved works. Filled with memorable tunes throughout, it culminates in a finale that leaps off the page in a flurry of excitement.

First, a chance to hear piano virtuoso Alice Sara Ott. Tonight, she performs a rarely-performed but effortlessly beautiful work by Camille Saint-Saëns: his Second Piano Concerto. A stormy first movement, reminiscent of Rachmaninov, gives way to sparkling piano melodies, rich orchestral moments and Saint-Saëns’s trademark delicate touch.
