Award-winning sarod player and composer Soumik Datta performs with musicians from the Philharmonia Orchestra.
Soumik is the Philharmonia’s Artist in Residence for the 2023/24 season. This evening celebrates the culmination of his year-long collaboration with the Philharmonia players as well as migrant and refugee musicians from Soumik Datta Arts. Their stories and experiences feed into this evening’s premiere, a captivating suite of raga collages, time cycles, contemporary composition and storytelling.
The performance lasts 75 minutes, and is suitable for all ages.
