Delamotte Blanc de Blancs NV
Made from the grapes of top Grand Cru vineyards, this refined non-vintage Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay) from Champagne Delamotte more than hints at the family pedigree – Delamotte is the sister house of Champagne Salon, perhaps the world’s rarest Champagne.

Described as elegant yet refined, and creamy yet with an abundance of citrus, the Delamotte was paired with Carlos Gardel’s Por Una Cabeza, which is also a piece of contrasting themes. Playful passages of sweetness are contrasted with fiery sections full of passion: a great musical characterisation of the Delamotte.

Authentic and generous, this distinctive white cuvée pays tribute to Gascony’s ancient viticultural heritage. Flagship wine of the Saint-Mont appellation, le Faîte -its name is French for ‘pinnacle’- draws on local grapes from the finest vineyard sites. A unique wine with a remarkable sense of place and personality, carefully blended by Plaimont’s Head Winemakers.

Paired with the scherzo of Claude Debussy’s String Quartet in G Minor, Op. 10, a piece celebrated for its variety of textures and sensuality. In his only quartet, Debussy did something new with a traditional form. This lively and melodic scherzo has a particular individuality that compliments Le Faîte.
Brunello di Montalcino Ridolfi 2015
Corney & Barrow have been keeping close tabs on Brunello di Montalcino. In Ridolfi, they have found just what we were after: a quality-minded estate with finesse at its heart. There is a wonderful sweetness on the nose, with weight that comes through on the palate, succulent with delicious intense red fruit and freshness.

Paired with Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. A musical treasure, just as finessed and fresh as the Ridolfi, that has come to be revered as a landmark example of the influence that classical styles had on Jazz in 1920s America.
