This season’s Featured Composer Anna Clyne’s This Midnight Hour opens this performance. An emotive piece full of vivid colours, it takes inspiration from two poems by Baudelaire and Jiménez.
Chopin’s First Piano Concerto’s sparkling heart-on-sleeve melodies are in the hands of electrifying British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor, before we hear Stravinsky’s imaginative and lively Pulcinella Suite, conducted by Joana Carneiro.
