Following two hugely successful visits, the Philharmonia Orchestra from London returns to Mauritius in January 2027 with a full 75-piece symphony orchestra for our biggest and most ambitious Festival on the island yet.
For the first time ever in Mauritius, experience the complete Beethoven Symphony cycle: all nine symphonies by one of the greatest composers who have ever lived. Across five performances, we mark 200 years since Beethoven’s death with conductors Ryan Bancroft and Paul McCreesh. Plus, we welcome internationally renowned presenter John Suchet, who joins us to tell the story of Beethoven’s extraordinary life. Enjoy iconic orchestral moments, discover new favourites, and experience a world-class orchestra live.
Between the symphonies, we invite Mauritian artists onto the stage for our specially created Half-Time Shows, in which they respond creatively to Beethoven’s distinctive music and themes and bring their own artforms into the concert experience.
The music of Star Wars includes some of the most iconic moments in the history of film music. Celebrating 50 years since the release of Star Wars: A New Hope, the Philharmonia performs a programme of highlights from John Williams’s masterful catalogue of legendary film scores. And the musicians of the Philharmonia are experts in the field – the go-to orchestra for many film composers, and it’s likely you’ve heard us on screen before. From Star Wars to Harry Potter, Jurassic Park and more, let conductor Stephen Bell and the musicians of the Philharmonia transport you to another world from the comfort of your own seat.
