Programme
Dvořák Rusalka
The water spirit Rusalka sacrifices everything, including her voice, to follow the Prince she loves into the human world. Her silence comes between them in a powerful and poignant fable.
Dvořák’s best-loved opera is an intoxicating combination of folk tunes and soaring romantic melodies, shimmering with watery light and glinting darkness, including the sublime ‘Song to the Moon’.
Natalya Romaniw sings the title role in this new production, relocated from 2020, with Jack Furness directing and Douglas Boyd conducting.
Sung in Czech with English supertitles
