June was born in Perth, Scotland and studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She was a member of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra for three years before moving to the the Philharmonia in 1987 as Second Flute.
June has also appeared as a guest with the LSO, LPO, The Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. Her hobbies include walking in the Highlands of Scotland, cooking traditional Scottish fayre and reading old copies of The Broons.
