London Concerts Autumn 2026

Welcome to our new season at Royal Festival Hall.

Welcome to the Philharmonia’s 2026/27 season. This autumn, we bring together landmark works, distinctive voices and major artists in a series that celebrates both tradition and new perspectives.

We are proud to be joined by two exceptional Featured Artists: Nobuyuki Tsujii and Sol Gabetta who will perform with us across the season. We are honoured to welcome back Herbert Blomstedt, who conducts Bruckner’s Symphony No. 5 at the age of 99 – an inspiring testament to a lifetime dedicated to music-making.

Across the season, we are joined by an outstanding line-up of artists including pianists Seong-Jin Cho and Emanuel Ax, and violinists James Ehnes, Esther Yoo and Nicola Benedetti. Highlights also include Brahms’s A German Requiem with soprano Diana Damrau and bass-baritone Gerald Finley.

Marking the 250th anniversary of American independence, the season features three striking projects. In collaboration with Southbank Centre, we present the London premiere of Julia Wolfe’s Fire in my Mouth – a powerful modern-day oratorio exploring the immigrant experience in early 20th-century New York. We also open the season with Santtu-Matias Rouvali conducting Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, From the New World, and celebrate Thanksgiving with the UK premiere of Taylor Mac’s A 24-Decade History of Popular Music in a version with full orchestra.

These collaborations reflect the Philharmonia’s commitment to performance at the highest level alongside a spirit of innovation, presenting orchestral music as a living, evolving art form, continually renewed by the artists who bring it to life.
