Brothers in Harmony brings the Philharmonia Orchestra together with brothers Kevin and Carey Tan for a distinctive evening at Cadogan Hall, pairing two of the most celebrated piano concertos in the repertoire with bold, original symphonic works.
The programme features Beethoven’s ‘Emperor’ Piano Concerto and Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2, performed by pianist Kevin Tan, alongside two large-scale symphonies by award-winning composer Carey Tan: ‘The Cries of War’ and ‘The Rise & Fall of AI Humanity’. Carey Tan also joins the orchestra on marimba in his own symphonies, adding a vivid colour to the orchestral sound world.
Their work has been presented at prestigious venues including the Berlin Philharmonie and the Musikverein in Vienna. Carey Tan, who earned a university-level composition diploma at the age of 11, has already received international recognition for his orchestral works. Together, the Tan brothers offer a rare encounter between classical tradition and a striking new musical imagination.
