We return to the Mikkeli Music Festival, an annual highlight in Philharmonia musicians’ calendars.
Our Principal Conductor Santtu opens our series of concerts with an all-Sibelius programme, culminating in the epic Kullervo – with the very same choir that Sibelius originally wrote the piece for.
This year’s residency continues with repertoire including Mussorgsky’s beloved Pictures at an Exhibition, Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto, Mozart’s seminal Requiem, plus two family concerts of music from the Lord of the Rings franchise.
