Throughout the Philharmonia’s 80th birthday year, the orchestra explores some big questions around music and identity – come and have your say.
Delve into music and politics with the Philharmonia, ahead of their concert featuring Sibelius’s hymn to his homeland Finlandia, and Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony, written under Stalin’s regime. Speakers from within the music world and beyond discuss whether artists can, or should, separate their own political views from their work.
