Esther Zaglia, born in February 2000, began studying the violin at six and trained at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Turin, graduating in 2017 with top marks, honours, and special distinction. She also studied at the Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo in Italy.
In 2019 she moved to London to study at the Royal College of Music with Jan Repko and Radu Blidar, earning her Bachelor of Music with highest honours in 2023 and her Master of Performance in 2025. Her studies were supported by the Hamilton-Stewart and BigGive Scholarships, and she also received a scholarship from De Sono Associazione per la Musica.
In London, Esther collaborates with orchestras including the London Mozart Players, has won a trial with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and has been selected for the Philharmonia Orchestra Instrumental Fellowship Programme (2026), the Chamber Orchestra of Europe Orchestral Scheme, and the Orpheus Foundation Programme (2025–2026). She has performed in major venues including Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, and other prominent halls across the UK.
She has won numerous competitions, including Città di Moncalieri, Ars Nova, Luigi Nono, Marco Fiorindo, and, with the trio, First Prize and the Special Jesús de Monasterio Award at the 2025 International Chamber Music Competition in Arnuero, Spain.
Esther performs in this concert as a member of the Aida Piano Trio, which reached the semifinals of the ROSL Annual Music Competition and attended IMS Prussia Cove masterclasses under Thomas Adès.
