Get closer to the Orchestra in our Up Close Rehearsals.
We’re delighted to announce that Up Close Rehearsals will be returning this season. We love that you were so enthusiastic at our previous two, and want to get even more out of the rehearsal experience.
Up Close Rehearsals give you the opportunity to be centered at the very heart of the orchestral rehearsal. During Up Close Rehearsals, you can sit in the Choir Stalls, right around the Orchestra itself, so you can see and hear the conductor’s communication with the players, listen to the sound right by your favourite section, and get a whole new perspective on these vital working sessions for the players.
Continuing from the success of Philharmonia Social in our 80th season, we will be inviting you to mingle with other supporters before the rehearsal for coffee and conversation, during which one of the players or Philharmonia team will give some insights into the music you are about to hear.

About
Open rehearsals are not performances. Playing may be paused at various intervals in order for the conductor, soloist and orchestra to agree on specific styles and dynamics.
Open rehearsals will take place in the auditorium where the concert is due to be performed, unless otherwise specified. Times and repertoire being rehearsed will be confirmed prior to the rehearsal date, as these schedules are subject to change.
Please note that open rehearsals are working processes for the conductor and the Orchestra, we cannot guarantee that pieces will be played in their entirety. Timings are subject to change and every endeavour will be made to let ticket holders know in advance about any such changes. Please check our website for up-to-date information.
