2024/25 London Season
This autumn, explore the music of the Nordic countries in our series Nordic Soundscapes, with our Principal Conductor Santtu. And enjoy great music from Mozart to Mahler, featuring some of the most inspiring musicians in the business.
Welcome to our 2024/25 season at our home in the heart of London.
You can hear our Principal Conductor Santtu’s interpretation of a wide range of repertoire, from Debussy to Shostakovich’s first and last symphonies.
Charismatic violinist Nemanja Radulović is our Featured Artist this season. He’s playing Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto in October, Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in April, and in February he play-directs a deeply personal programme of Bach and melodies from his native Serbia, France and Spain.
On 14 February, our Principal Guest Conductor Marin Alsop is joined by two champion tango dancers in a programme with a South American flavour. And on 24 April, as part of the Southbank Centre’s Multitudes festival, she conducts Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10, with an animated film by artist William Kentridge.
Our Conductor Laureate Esa-Pekka Salonen returns in November to conduct the UK premiere of Magnus Lindberg’s Viola Concerto, and in March Riccardo Muti, our Principal Conductor back in the 1970s, makes a long-anticipated return with Verdi’s powerful Requiem.
We hope to see you there.
