Víkingur Ólafsson
Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson has captured public and critical imagination to become one of the most sought-after artists of today.
Joining the Philharmonia as Featured Artist in our 80th birthday season, Ólafsson performs with us in London, Bedford, Amsterdam, Vienna, and on a major tour of the US, culminating at Carnegie Hall. At the Southbank Centre, he plays Beethoven to open the Orchestra’s London season, gives the UK premiere of John Adams’s After the Fall, a concerto composed for him, and performs a programme dedicated to Kurtág.
