This Valentine’s Day, enjoy an evening of romance with some of the most ardent, passionate music even written.

Under the baton of conductor Holly Mathieson, the Philharmonia embarks on a whirlwind tour of turbulent film and operatic love stories including Bizet’s Carmen, and John Barry’s Out of Africa.

And to complete the programme, pianist Martin James Bartlett performs Rachmaninov’s much-loved Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, with its unforgettable ‘18th Variation’ that has formed the backdrop to countless romantic Hollywood films including the classic love story between Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour in Somewhere in Time.
