Thrills, passion and glorious melodies – join us for an all-Russian evening of classical favourites as the we make our long-awaited return to Cardiff.

Violinist Chloë Hanslip takes centre stage for arguably the best-loved violin concerto of all time – instantly recognisable from its lush opening tune, Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto is filled to the brim with the composer’s heartfelt style. The poetic work is the perfect showpiece for Hanslip, renowned for her “impassioned lyricism” (The Guardian).

And to close, we journey to the fantastical world of 1001 Nights in Rimsky-Korsakov’s magnificent Scheherazade. From grand scenes to delicate love themes, it’s a chance to experience the complete emotional range of the orchestra as we perform for the first time with conductor Tianyi Lu, a local favourite from her work with Welsh National Opera.
