The Foundling Museum’s Young Artists’ Platform programme showcases exceptional musicians at the start of their musical career. In partnership with the Philharmonia Orchestra, the programme provides monthly recital opportunities for their Philharmonia Instrumental Fellows.

Enthralled by River-dance’s violinist at age 6, Emily’s captivation for the viola has only blossomed since. Under the tutelage of Matthew Jones, she is studying for her Masters in Orchestral Artistry at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Emily has played with major orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra; she is currently on trial for sub-principal viola with Royal Ballet Sinfonia. She received her orchestral training from the London Symphony Orchestra’s String Experience Scheme as well as the Royal Ballet Sinfonia scheme.

Having recently placed first in the CAVATINA String Quartet Competition, Emily is also looking forward to a growing career with her string quartet: Tamesis Quartet. Recognised by the Sacconi Quartet, the Tamesis Quartet are quickly forming a strong working partnership with the Folkestone Music Society and look forward to undertaking their first concert series with the society.
