Portuguese bass trombonist José Teixeira is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London.
During his undergraduate studies at RCM, José secured 1st place in the British Trombone Society’s Trombone Choir Competition with the RCM Trombone Choir in 2023. He also earned an honourable mention in the International Trombone Association’s Emory Remington Trombone Choir Competition in 2024. Additionally, José took part in the BBC Symphony Orchestra Scheme in 2022, in the English National Opera Evolve Scheme in 2023.
José also won various scholarships. He has been a Robert Anderson Music Resident since 2020, a Royal College of Music Scholar in 2024, a Drake Calleja Trust Scholar in 2024, and a London Symphony Orchestra Conservatoire Scholar in 2024.
His growing career includes collaborations with orchestras such as the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera, Southbank Sinfonia, Symphonica Orchestra, and Orion Orchestra.
