Visit the fascinating Foundling Museum in Bloomsbury and enjoy a recital from one of our MMSF violin Fellows, Joana Rodrigues, accompanied by MMSF piano Fellow, Ellis Thomas.

Joana Rodrigues is a recent graduate from the Orchestral Artistry postgraduate course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She studied with renowned teachers such as Stephanie Gonley, Ofer Falk and Simon Fischer. Joana enjoys a busy freelance schedule playing with London Symphony Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa. Joana is a member of the Knox Ensemble, she has played solo concerts in Portugal and in the UK and enjoys teaching.

Ellis Thomas graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2022 with First-Class Honours and is currently pursuing postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Tessa Nicholson. Ellis regularly performs around the UK and soloist and chamber musician and has been awarded numerous prizes at competitions including the Robert Schumann International Piano Competition Düsseldorf and the Wales International Piano Festival. He has worked with professors such as Boris Berman, Imogen Cooper, Steven Osborne, amongst others. Ellis is grateful for support from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, the Robert Turnbull foundation, the James Pantyfedwen Foundation, and the Ryan Davies Memorial Fund.
