We are proud to be the longstanding resident orchestra of the Three Choirs Festival, Britain’s oldest music festival. Every year, the festival revolves around a cathedral in either Hereford, Worcester or Gloucester, showcasing the very best and the great variety that choral music has to offer. Experience flagship evening concerts, laid back late-nights, daytime recitals, and lively family programme, and soak up the atmosphere between events in the festival village.

We invite you to join us for the opening weekend of this year’s festival in Gloucester. Spend time with a community of fellow supporters and Philharmonia musicians, take in some world class music making, and enjoy a summer weekend away in this historic cathedral city.

The cost of the trip includes a whopping four concerts – all outstanding in repertoire and artists. Two of these are recitals with the Grammy winning VOCES8 and superstar Roderick Williams OBE – one of the world’s most sought after artists – respectively. Two are major evening concerts in Gloucester’s stunning cathedral: Walton’s epic Belshazzar’s Feast, paired with Elgar’s first symphony and Rachmaninov’s hauntingly beautiful Vespers, performed by Ex Cathedra. You will also be invited to the opening night VIP festival reception, and to join us for an afternoon tea on the Sunday.

As well as the four concerts included in the package, there are a number of other free and reasonably priced events taking place in the opening weekend of the festival, from evensongs, to historic walks, to piano recitals, and even a The Sound of Music workshop.

The cost of this trip does not include travel and accommodation, which we recommend booking early.

Includes:

  • Best seats to four concerts
  • Opening night reception
  • Afternoon tea
