The golden statue of the Happy Princess stands above the wintery city. A swallow, left behind during migration, shelters by her feet. The Princess tells the bird that she longs to help her suffering people. Based on the timeless story by Oscar Wilde, The Happy Princess is an opera written for young people, performed by children from schools around Gloucestershire alongside members of the Philharmonia.
