Olivia Pérez-Collellmir Els set somnis de Gaudí
In Barcelona, the Philharmonia perform two large-scale world premieres inspired by one of the city’s most famous sons: the visionary architect Antonin Gaudí.
A century after his death, Barcelona is now preparing to hear the bells Gaudí designed for the Sagrada Familia for the first time, and the Philharmonia is joining these celebrations with the world premiere of David Cieri’s monumental work 84 Bells. Together with the world premiere of Olivia Pérez-Collellmir’s symphonic-choral work Seven Dreams of Gaudí, these musical tributes to Gaudí’s realise his vision of architecture as a living, breathing force.
Marin Alsop conducts the Philharmonia in this celebration of Gaudí’s legacy, in collaboration with local choirs. Expect an extraordinary sound and spectacle as Barcelona’s iconic modernist concert hall, the Palau de la Música Catalana, plays host to this major cultural highlight of Barcelona’s Year of Gaudí 2026.
