This is the first concert in a series of concerts run in conjunction with the Philharmonia Orchestra’s MMSF Instrumental Fellowship Programme. Each concert will feature a young musician starting out on their orchestral career, with the first being Carys Barnes with her Slate Quartet.
Carys Barnes is currently studying a Masters in Advanced Instrumental Studies at the Guidhall School of Music and Drama. She is also on trial for Principal viola with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and has been offered the position of Principal viola with the Slovak State Sinfonietta.
The other members of her quartet are:
Tiago Soares Silva (violin) – a current Southbank Centre Future Artist
Jenny Clare (violin) – in her final year at the Royal Academy of Music
Oonah Lowther (cello) – working with the Young Artists Scheme with the Southbank Centre Future Artists
