Series mahler symphonies

The symphonies of Mahler hold a special place in the history of the Philharmonia Orchestra. Back in 1983, a young Finnish conductor called Esa-Pekka Salonen stepped in at the last minute to conduct Mahler’s Symphony No.3, and lit the spark that led to him being appointed Principal Conductor in 2007. This year Salonen, along with Jakub Hrůša and Lahav Shani, take on five of these epic masterpieces.
